About the trek:

Situated around 35 km north of the town of Shimla lies the refreshing Shali Tibba trek in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The trek is one of the most fascinating treks as Shali Tibba is the highest peak in Shimla and also a great trek that you can do with your family. Shali Tibba Trekking involves a nice and refreshing walk of 2 to 3 hours on a fairly easy gradient. The trail is surrounded by lush Himalayan forest and orchards with exquisite flora and fauna. This is also the home to indigenous leopards and wildlife so trekking is not allowed from evening onwards. Shali Tibba altitude stands at almost 2800m which makes the trek possible for teenagers and fit veterans too. Atop you will find Shali Tibba temple dedicated to Goddess Bhimkali. The temple is of great significance to the locals and showcase Himalayan architecture.

This standalone peak will award you with 360 degrees views of the northern Himalayan ranges and ice capped mountains on a clear day. The Shali Tibba trek is one of the best weekend treks which is not at all exhausting and a great place for a family day out. It is also an ideal way to start trekking for beginners. The trek is easily completed by evening when you can return to the camps. Shali Tibba is visible from Shimla which makes it really appealing for the trekkers. The place doesn’t lie at such high elevation making so weather is great and Shali Tibba temperature rages in double digits from April to November making it almost a year-round trek, though it is advisable to avoid monsoons if you are going on a family trek. The pleasant climate and easy accessibility make it a preferred trek with an equal cultural importance.
